NEW CHEF IN TOWN
We are proud to announce our New Chef George Ruiz who will oversee the culinary team , banquet and catering serves for the hotel.
George started working at the age of 13 in his father's first restaurant, Rancho Del Sol, in Gilbert. He started as a bus boy after school and on weekends, but eventually found his way into the kitchen where he found his true passion for cooking. He was trained by top notch chefs from El Salvador and from the Hilton Franchise. He joined the fire department in 1993 and was a firefighter and paramedic for 16 years. During his career as a professional firefighter, he held true to his passion for food, and worked in his families second restaurant. He also was featured on a national television show called " Calling All Cooks", who were doing a series on the top firehouse cooks in the nation. He has received awards in the Southwest Salsa Challenge and Holy Guacamole contest for the Hemophilia Association. He has also participated in the United Food Banks Taste Of The Nation. Since leaving the Fire department, he has returned to the kitchen and has held banquet and sous chef positions at various country clubs and restaurants. He is proud to be the new executive chef at Dobson Ranch Inn and Cactus Clubhouse. " I am excited to bring something for the whole family using home cooking basics and adding my personal taste with a South American influence . We will proudly be serving, in addition to our menu, daily specials to include a catch of the day, a pasta, and a featured entrée."
